News

As you all know the work has begun on the solar farm at Marsh Green which is called the Ford Oaks Solar Park (FOSP).  This is already causing traffic problems which the Council are pursuing with Infinis (the company liaising with local communities) and I'm sure issues will continue to be raised for the life of the project.

You may be interested in some benefits that will flow to the local community as a result of the project which are outlined in this presentation.  The Council looks forward to hearing more about this and accessing some funds for local projects.

Local Government Reorganisation
Nationally the Government is reorganising local Councils at the District and County levels.  Parish and Town Councils are not affected.  EDDC and DCC will be reorganised and not exist after 1 April 2028.  New ideas are being proposed for larger Councils, called Unitary Councils, such as already exist in Cornwall, Somerset & Plymouth.  One of these proposals, from Exeter City Council, is that Aylesbeare would become part of a wider Unitary Council cased around Exeter - more details here.  Other proposals are being drawn up by EDDC with neighbouring Districts and by DCC.  Your Parish Council is kept informed of the issues and feeds back to the various proposers our local priorities.

The Council is very pleased to announce that you can now read Aylesbeare Topics right here.  Each month we will be uploaded a pdf version of the newsletter making it even easier to keep up to date with what's happening in our lovely parish, and where you might just find a useful product or service from one of the advertisers.  Because of all the lovely colour pictures it comes in 3 parts.
