East Devon District Council Local Plan
EDDC's Local Plan 2013-2031 sets out the principles for the development of East Devon until 2031. The policies guide planning decisions and help everyone understand where and how housing will grow, designated sites will be protected and the nature of East Devon preserved. View and download your own copy of the plan here.
EDDC are also developing a new Local Plan which replace the current plan but extend to 2040. View the latest on the Emerging Local Plan here.
During the process of drawing up the plan EDDC will consult the public and organisations for their views. We will let you know of any consultations as they take place so you can get your voice heard and help shape the future of East Devon.

Aylesbeare Parish Survey Feb 2012
In 2011 the Parish Council submitted to East Devon District Council its proposal for the development of Aylesbeare over the next 15 years, based on its interpretation of the results of a survey it had undertaken in 2005 within the parish. A public meeting on 4th January 2012 revealed an undercurrent of opposition to the potential building of so many new houses. At the public meeting it was agreed that the Parish Council should conduct a public opinion survey of all residents within the parish who are registered on the electoral register. The objective of this survey was to assess opinions on the number of houses appropriate for the future development of the parish.
